A Ryka walking shoes review of the Devotion Plus 2 sneaker. W’re covering if these shoes are actually good for walking and where to find them on sale!

Anyone else have way too many pairs of sneakers? I used to feel like I rotated through my collection well, but after discovering the Ryka Devotion Plus 2 shoes, there aren’t any other pairs that seem to be making it out my front door, haha.

Ryka Devotion Plus 2 Review

All of the Ryka Devotion Plus 2 Reviews I read when researching the brand really hyped me up to get these in the mail. Everyone seems to LOVE them! I was gifted a pair of them for a simple Instagram post, but had to whip up a full review now that they are practically the only shoes I’ve been reaching for.

What I’m loving about these walking shoes

My favorite elements of these Ryka walking shoes (currently on sale at Zappos!) are that they are both lightweight and supportive. Also, they are definitely the most comfortable sneaker I’ve found that doesn’t sacrifice on style. I think they look so cute with a number of options in my extensive collection of leggings. These sneakers came in nearly every color imaginable, too! I’m loving the navy colorway with a pop of peach, the Pink Crystal for a feminine look, or the Plum Red for an option that embraces that tones of fall.

Potential Concerns

So far, the only negative I have is on sizing (more on that below). Because of the lightweight materials, I’m interested to see how they hold up over time. So far, I’ve been wearing them regularly for almost 2 months now and I’ve had no issues!

Thoughts on Sizing

I’m usually between a size 7.5 and 8.5 depending on the shoe. I went with the 8 (medium width) for these. They just fit. My toe hits the top of the shoes but not in a way that’s painful or uncomfortable. They are still plenty comfortable and I don’t mind a more fitted shoe. However, I would consider sizing up a half size if that’s something that would bother you. I have the 8.5 coming in the Summit Mid Top Hiker Boot, so I look forward to comparing the difference.

Are Ryka Shoes Good for Walking?

These are the only pair of Ryka sneakers I’ve tried so far, but my verdict is 100%! They live up to their walking shoes name for sure. I have some chronic pain left over from my years of ballet training. When I have a day where I’m walking a lot, I do notice less pain in my knees, hips, and back which is truly wonderful. We’re (tentatively) going to Disney in November and I will be packing these for sure, especially since they are lightweight.

If you’re wondering which Ryka shoe is best for walking, you have options! It really depends on what your needs are. The Devotion Plus 2 and Devotion Plus 3 are great everyday options. If you do a lot of long distance walking, look into the Perform Walking Shoe, Myriad Walking Shoe (love the simple look of this one!). The Sky Walk Trail Walking Shoe is great for something trail ready that still looks like a traditional sneaker while the Raya Walking Shoe offers another classic, everyday option.

Devotion Plus 2 vs Plus 3

From what I can gather, the difference in the Ryka Devotion Plus 2 vs 3 is that there is extra padding around the heel in the Plus 3. The aesthetic design of the Plus 3 is less simple and more intricate, which may or may not align with the look you’re going for.

Why Ryka Shoes Are Different

Ryka shoes are designed for women, which really sets them a part from other sneakers brands out there. More specifically, the construction of the shoe is crafted with the unique build, foot shape, and muscle movement women have. Ryka sneakers have a roomier forefoot and narrower heel. This does take some getting used to. When I first put them on, I felt like they were too wide (even in the medium width – and I wouldn’t really categorize my feet as “narrow”). However, as I got used to them, I realized that my foot was still secure because of the thoughtful design. It’s actually nice to have more room in the footbed without the shoes being too big.

Where to buy Ryka walking shoes:

You can buy them directly on the Ryka website as well as on Amazon, Zappos, and DSW. Below are my current favorite styles – a bunch of them are on sale! You can save $30 on the pair of sneakers I’m wearing currently at Zappos.
