Summary of the Book (in 1 pages)

In this book Vedic sutra for mathematical calculations are classified into two parts:

(1) Collection of Vedic Sutra(For arithmetic calculation)

(2) Collection of Vedic Sutra(For algebraic calculation)

Examples of Vedic Sutra for arithmetic calculations are

(1) Ekadhikena Purvena

(2) Ekanyunena Purvena

Examples of Vedic Sutra for Algebric calculations are

(1) Paravartya Yojayet

(2) Puranaapurnabhyam

These formulas (sutras) are applicable to all the chapters in all branches of Mathematics (Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry-plain and sphere, Trigonometry-plain and Solid Coordinates). In fact, it is applicable to each part of technical Mathematics.

Some problems solved by using the Sutra Ekadhikena Purvena: –

Q. Find the square root of that number, ending in 5.

Example: Square of 15.

Step 1. Except the 5, write the product of 1&2(one more than 1) 1×2= 2.

Step 2. Write the square of 5= 25, after it is 2/25

Thus square of 15 is 225.

Example: Square of 35.

Step1. Except the 5, write the product of 3&4(one more than 3)

3×4= 12

Step 2. Write the square of 5= 25, after it

Thus square of 35 is 1225.

Summary of the Book (in 2 pages)

This is a book written by Thomas Hardy. This book contains tales and stories composed by William Shakespeare. This book is published by Maple Press in 2010 at Noida. The stories of Shakespeare are world famous stories and no. of stories are written in this book like The Tempest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Winter’s Tale, Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It, The Two Gentleman of Verona, The Merchant of Venice, Cymbeline, King Lear, Macbeth, All’s Well That End Well, The Taming of the Shrew, The Comedy of Errors and many more. From these the story which I like the most is King Lear in which there is a foolish King of Britain who had three daughters. The worn out of his age and he had given his all property among anyone. The foolish king asked a question to these three daughters that how much you love me.

The eldest daughter Goneril answered that she loves him so much that the world would less to express this. By seeing this he was astonished and gave her and her husband a 1/3rd part of his kingdom. Then the king turned to his second daughter Regan. She answered that she loves him so much that the sky will also be less towards this to express her love. By seeing this he was amazed by hearing this. Then he turned to her third daughter who was maid she simply answered that she loved the king according to her duty neither more nor less. By hearing this he was angried. Then she explained the king that if I will you love you 100% like the other 2 then how much will be my love for my husband or children. By hearing this he dumbs trucked and tears were coming out from his eyes and he gave his all the rest property to her. This was the story of King Lear of Britain.

Like this there are so much more exciting stories of this great personality William Shakespeare.

There is one more story which is also interesting i.e. The Tempest. In this story what happen that is an imaginary. Once there was a king of Ulva’s island who loved the daughter of Lord Ullin. But the Lord Ullin was agreed with this. So they both ran out to the sea and requested the ferry man to take the Ulva’s island which was across the sea but suddenly the tempest (storm) started it was of higher power. At the back they saw that the soldiers of Lord Ullin were coming to kill them. When the lord Ullin saw her daughter standing in the boat just towards the tempest she requested her daughter that he will forgive them both and to just came back. But for this he was too late to say this. The tempest flown the both of them into the sea and the king was not able to do anything. This was the story of The Tempest………

This book is must readied by everyone to know these world famous stories………

Summary of the Book (in 1 page)

Three Men in a boat

The story mainly has a focus on three characters who are George , Jerome, William samuel Harris and also the dog. The narrator, Jerome, and his two friends, Harris and George, decide to go on a boat trip up the Thames. From Kingston on the river Thames they row and tow their way up the river and through the locks, spending their nights on the boat under a cover – along with the dog, Montmorency. That is the plot, but not the point of the book. In one way, it’s a travel guide, peppered full of tips for people who want to do something similar; it’s also a guide to the history of the places along the river, but more than that, it’s a satirical work of humour that’ll get you sniggering and snorting.

They are enjoying the trip and wer worried that they must visit many places and must forget all the sorrow that they felt in sachvui.co were much more far away from following a simple chronological path, J tells his travelogue with a great many anecdotes, asides and tangents. Some of his historical tangents get quite poetical, though he doesn’t take anyone very seriously. Along the way, we learn about Harris’ inability to sing comic songs, the problem with cheese on a boat, J’s hatred for tombs and George’s story of the time he forgot to wind his watch. It is a lively blend of the interesting, the absurd and the quaint – for there is something about it, perhaps in my imagination alone, that is sentimental, a kind of “I know this lifestyle is coming to end, but let’s not forget the good times, hey-what?”

Never having been to England (despite the fact that so many Canadians think I have an English accent!), I can’t picture what this stretch of the Thames must look like today, but I can imagine it’s changed considerably – in terms of river traffic, if nothing else. But I could be wrong, maybe lots of people still row up and down it, towing their way through locks and having picnics on the bank? I have my doubts. Reading this book more than a hundred years after it was written, it comes with a heavy dash of nostalgia for a time long gone – partly because even in the 1880s the river had changed a good deal, and J envisions times long past.

The real highlight of this book, and the reason why it’s so wonderful, is the humour. While some of the jokes and puns are a bit “done” now (bear in mind, again, how old this is), they are still funny. In fact, this would have to be the most intresting book I’ve ever read.

This story has a power that it can make the people attract to its direction and it makes the reader very much happy and the reader will never be bored by reading this book .The main reason of planning a trip towards the river Thames is that those people were very lazy and hence were very bored of the daily life and hence wanted a change in their life. The three friends were very lazy and also didn’t wanted to work for a long time even they didn’t wanted to work for a short period .

As they travelled to many places and learned many things they were very happy. As this book contains so much packed into this relatively short book, you could read it many times and it would feel fresh – with so many stories and anecdotes and jolly ramblings, it’s easy to miss or forget some. There were a few times when I lost track of the story altogether, forgetting what was happening in the present and what got them onto this topic in the first place. But it was such a fun read, it didn’t really matter. There are lots and lots of editions of this book – its copyright expired, so you can also get it for free as an e-book, I believe. Get yourself a copy, and when you feel in the need for a good laugh, start reading. If you enjoy irreverent, ironic humour, you’ll enjoy Three Men in a Boat.

  1. 1. Did you like the book? (Yes/No) Why?

Ans: Yes, I like this book because it is very intresting and the book which may increase your thinking level.

  1. 2. Which characters you liked most? Why?

Ans: My favourite character in this story is Jerome Klapka Jerome because he is the narrator and he also played a role in story.

Theme/ Idea /Moral of the book/story: –This book is full of comic scenes and it also gives many morals to us.

Conclusion:-Every one must read this book.

  • Summary of the Book

The book begins with the narrator, J and two of his friends, sitting at home tired of their dull lives. They need a break, not just to have fun, but to get rid of the chronic case of hypochondria that they seem to have! Eventually, they decide to go boating on the Thames. The three men(who are, incidentally, all terrible boatmen) pack their supplies and pile into a skiff, along with J.’s hurricane of a dog, Montmorency and set off on the two-week long trip. Little do they know how disastrous it is going to be!!

‘Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog)’ was published in 1889. It is written by English writer Jerome K. Jerome. It was originally supposed to be a travel guide, but ended up being a humorous account! But the book does have long travelogue-ish descriptions of the history, nature along the journey from Kingston to Oxford. They may be slightly boring for the non-nature and history-loving readers, but these descriptions too have that hint of sarcasm in them! Along the journey, the writer adds different amusing incidents and stories from his memories; without straying from the main plot! Not to mention, there are these little comical ‘blurbs’ at the beginning of every chapter, that give us a Cliff notes version of what happens next! This is a book that makes you ‘Laugh Out Loud’!

I see that I have said nothing of the dog! According to the author, “Fox terriers are born with about four times as much original sin in them as other dogs are.” And Montmorency is truly a ‘terror’ in that respect – along the journey – he almost fights with a tom cat, also with a kettle (but unfortunately, loses) and in Oxford he gets into 25 fights!

This delightfully whimsical book has a quintessentially British air to it. The book has perfectly captured the Victorian era and all its stereotypes! Today, ages later, the humour still doesn’t seem stale. To all the P.G Wodehouse, Terry Pratchett fans out there, and to anyone in search of a good laugh: this book is for you!!

  7. Summary

Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog) by Jerome K. Jerome was first published in 1889. It is the fictional story of three London friends and a dog taking a leisurely boat trip up the River Thames, from Kingston-upon-Thames to Oxford. It is narrated by ‘J.’, whose companions are George (awarded no surname), William Samuel Harris and the dog, Montmorency.

During a sociable evening in J.’s room, the three men convince themselves that they each have various illnesses. Their collective diagnosis is overwork, and they prescribe themselves a fortnight’s holiday. A stay in the country and a sea voyage are both ruled out, and they settle instead on a boating trip, travelling on the Thames by day and camping out in the hired boat at night.

They set out the following Saturday. George must work in the City in the morning, and so arranges to join them later that day. The other two, accompanied by the dog and a mountain of luggage, get a cab to Waterloo station, but are unable to find the correct train to Kingston. Eventually they bribe the driver of another train to take them there instead, one of the many humorous set-pieces that make the book more than a straightforward travelogue. George completes the trio at Weybridge, with a dubious-looking parcel tucked under his arm, which turns out to be a banjo and instruction book.
